Established in 2004, Little Owls is a purpose-built day nursery and pre-school located in the heart of the Danbury countryside and less than 2 miles from the Chelmsford park and ride.
At Little Owls, we are committed to ensuring your child’s individual needs are fully catered for. Our childcare providers aim to deliver individualised learning and development opportunities to enhance the experiences of your child and give them the best possible start into school life.
We promote enjoyable and purposeful play that encourages learning and development in a safe, relaxed, healthy and fun atmosphere whilst encouraging discovery, wonder, adventure, challenge and a strong sense of belonging.

Themes and Principles
The EYFS is based around four themes and each theme is linked to an important principle:
1. A unique child
Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
2. Positive relationships
Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person.
3. Enabling environments
The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.
4. Learning and development
Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. All areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.
Curriculum
At Little Owls, we believe every child deserves the best possible start in life and our commitment will ensure every child in our care fulfils their full potential.
Children’s experiences in the early years have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is vital, and this provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up. We know when choosing to use early years services, parents want to be assured the setting will keep their children safe and help them to thrive.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the framework that provides that assurance. We are regulated by Ofsted and our commitment and dedication has also earned us an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rating.
